Our Summer Series is held on Saturday afternoons from late October to mid-March.
Registering for races is at our club rooms between 4 - 4.30pm.
Races start at 5pm.
Held at the Warragul Leisure Centre pool, the bike leg is raced on a 3km course around the Leisure centre. The run leg is around the walking tracks in Burke St Park, opposite the Leisure Centre.
The swim leg is held in the 25 metre indoor pool, the bike ride is along the footpath and gravel track around the Burke St park area (about 1km), and the run is on the grass oval outside our club rooms (about 300 metres).
Distances for Juniors vary depending on the age and confidence level of the children, ranging from 1 lap of each leg up to 6 laps of each leg.
We usually have about 80 to 100 juniors members aged between 5 and 12 years, with up to 40 racing each Saturday.
Juniors are given a Race Record Book to record their times and keep track of their progress throughout the season. First, second and third placed male and female competitors in each distance are given a corresponding sticker to add to their Race Record Book. Anyone who records a PB is also given a sticker to recognise their achievement.
We run a free BBQ each week for all participants, Junior and Senior. Our triathlons have a very family friendly atmosphere about them. We love to see lots of new faces every year.
On our last race before Christmas we have best decorated bike competition for the Juniors, athletes dress up in their Santa hats and there is lots of fun to be had.
Everyone is welcome to join our club. Whether you are a seasoned athlete or a first timer we are about getting out there, moving and having fun.
Wild Dog Triathlon Club (WDTC) was formed in September 1997 when a group of interested athletes got together to train in Warragul. The first events held by WDTC were held at Blue Rock Dam at Willow Grove.
